If you’re looking for a fun activity for your kids and their friends, especially if one of your youngsters has a summer birthday, hitting the track for a go-karting session could be ideal.
You might even have some budding racing drivers in your midst given the rise in popularity of F1 among a younger fanbase.
Last year’s Global Fan Survey by Formula 1 and Motorsport Network found that Gen Z (those aged 13 to 29 at the time of writing) are among the most engaged fan groups for the high-octane racing sport.
What’s more, if your kids are into their motorsports, and they have a birthday coming up, you could let them live out their F1 fantasies on the go-karting track with one of our kids parties at our site in Bury St Edmunds.
During term-time, we offer “Zoom Parties” where groups of five or more youngsters can race around the track in two ten-minute karting sessions.
Outside of term-time, you can book one of our exclusive practice sessions for your group instead, which also gives them a chance to race around our 700m go-karting circuit.
What is included in a kid’s go-karting session?
Whichever type of session you book for your youngsters, we will provide everything they need to stay safe and enjoy their time on the track. This includes:
Go-karts that are age and height appropriate
All safety equipment
Comprehensive safety briefing and tuition
Medals for all participants
Analysis of individual lap times
As a parent, we know that safety is paramount. That’s why we provide full go-karting suits as well as helmets. All our helmets are full-face with a visor for safety.
What is the minimum age for a kids’ go-karting party?
The minimum age we can take out on the track is eight years old. But also note that, due to the type of go-karts we have, all participants also need to be a minimum of 119cm tall, regardless of their age.
This is to ensure their safety in our go-karts while they race around the track.
How much does a kid’s go-karting party cost?
The rates for a kids’ party at our go-karting track in Bury St Edmunds varies depending on what day of the week you book your session.
During term-time, our Zoom Parties are available on weekdays only, for £50 per person. They are for a minimum of five participants.
Meanwhile, on weekends and during the school holidays, you’ll need to book one of our Exclusive Sessions instead. These start from £37 per person on weekdays (or £43 on weekends), and go up to £77 per person (or £80 per person).
The price depends on the duration of the session you choose. For kids, we typically recommend the shorter sessions, which keeps the per-person price to £53 as a maximum.
You might think this sounds like an expensive kids’ party, but when you consider that research found the average children’s birthday party in the UK now comes in at £701, our go-karting parties are great value.
For five kids, you’re looking at around £250. Even if you add food at our cafe after their track session, you’ll still likely spend a lot less than the £700 average.
