Club 2000, Double Header Rounds 3 & 4, 15th-16th May 2021



The second double header of the year was a busy one and felt a bit like normality was returning. There was weather to suit everyone with light rain on the Saturday through to sunshine on the Sunday.



HONDA

Joshua “Bomber” Smith (15) led Round 3 from start to finish, taking a full set of 1sts. Will Rogers (53) had a good weekend too, taking 2nd in the Round 3 Final and 1st in the Round 4 Final. Nathan Gange (89) drove well in Round 4 taking 1st place in all the heats but missing out in the Final.


R3: Joshua Smith (15) claimed the fastest Honda lap of the day with 48.00 in Heat 3 and the fastest average speed of 55.03 mph in Heat 1.


R4: Nathan Gange (89) claimed the fastest Honda lap of the day with 47.14 and the fastest average speed of 55.83 mph in Heat 1.

MINIMAX

Alex Beale (43) was on his own again for Round 3. In Round 4 he had the company of Harry Pallister (82) for Qualifying but was on his own again for Heat 1 which was the last heat raced.


R3: Alex Beale (43) achieved his fastest average speed of 57.03 mph together with

his fastest lap of the day (45.26) in the Final.


R4: Alex Beale (43) claimed lap of the day with a 44.00 in Heat 1. The fastest average speed of 63.07 mph was achieved in Qualifying by Harry Pallister (82) who didn’t take part in any of the Heats.

JUNIOR TKM

Round 3 was challenging for Charlie Gaillard (74) due to a driver error in Qualifying which caused a DNF and a technical underweight exclusion in Heat 1. Nevertheless, he came through with 1sts in all remaining heats and the Final. Round 4 was mixed with only one placing in the top three in the heats and a 2nd in the Final. Freya Woodall (16) took 1st in the Round 4 Final, also managing 1st, 2nd and a 3rd in the heats. Oliver Bowen (55) got trophies in both rounds ending up with six top three positions including one 1st place over the weekend. Oliver Rands (27) had four top three placings with one 1st place.


R3: Charlie Gaillard (74) claimed the fastest Junior TKM lap of the day with 42.34 and the fastest average speed of 62.56 mph in Heat 3


R4: Oliver Bowen (55) claimed the fastest Junior TKM lap of the day with a 41.84 in Heat 1. Charlie Gaillard (74) achieved the fastest average speed of 63.86 mph in Qualifying.

JUNIOR ROTAX

Junior Rotax was eventful due to the ever-changing weather conditions. Matthew Copsey (97) had a great run taking 1st place in all his races over the weekend except for Round 3 Heat 3. Alfie Campbell (40) took the remaining 1st place. 2nd place was up for grabs all weekend: Bryn Evans (77) x 4, Matthew Copsey (97) x 1, Alfie Campbell (40) x 2, Sam Cooper (44) x 1. Jenson Weston (34) claimed 3rd place for every race and the Final in Round 3 but didn’t get above 5th in Round 4.


R3: Matthew Copsey (97) grabbed the fastest Junior Rotax lap of 41.11 and the fastest average speed of 64.13 mph in the Final


R4: Alfie Campbell (40) claimed the fastest lap of the day with a 40.98 in Heat 1 he also got the fastest average speed of 65.16 mph in Qualifying.

JUNIOR PROKART

The Round 3 Junior Prokart Final was interesting with the track going from damp to wet very quickly. James Drabwell (5) did well in Round 3 taking 1st the Final and 2nd in Heats 1 and 2, he didn’t quite match that in Round 4 only making it to 3rd. Reece Bright (27) made it into the top three in every race in Round 3, including 1sts in Heats 1 and 3. In Round 4 he claimed 2nd place as his own. After a promising start in Qualifying, Harvey Cursley (44) didn’t make it into the top three until the Final of Round 3. William Bloom’s (56) top position was 3rd in Heats 1 and 3 of Round 3 but went on to claim a full set of 1sts in Round 4. A first for Cassidy Beeton (66) as he won his first heat in Round 3.


R3: Reece Bright (27) claimed the fastest Prokart lap of the day with a 44.64 and the fastest average speed of 58.96 mph in Heat 3.


R4: Reece Bright (27) claimed the fastest Prokart lap of the day with a 44.36 in Heat 1. William Bloom (56) achieved the fastest average speed of 60.38 mph in Qualifying.

SENIOR TKM

Thomas Warner (17) and Stuart Smith (92) battled it out all day with Thomas getting the upper hand winning two heats and the Final and Stuart taking Heat 2.


R3: Thomas Warner (17) claimed his fastest lap of the day with 42.35 and the top average speed of 61.19 mph in the Final.

SENIOR ROTAX

Arundel Hughes (24) had it all his way for Round 3 getting a full hand of 1sts. For the most part Thomas Parker (72) was hot on his heels claiming 2nd place in two heats and the Final. Novice David Hills (69) claimed the remaining 2nd place in Heat 3. Lewis Fagg (64) took 3rd place in all races in Round 3. Round 4 was a bit different with Ben Maxim (26) taking 1st in two heats and the Final and Arundel Hughes (24) relegated to 2nd position in Heats 1 and 2 and the Final. The remaining 2nd position was claimed by Thomas Parker (72) who also got 3rd in Heat 1 and the Final. Dylan Tatham (55) took 3rd in Heats 2 and 3.


R3: Thomas Parker (72) claimed the fastest Senior Rotax lap of the day with a 40.17 in the Final. Arundel Hughes (24) achieved the top average speed of 65.86 mph also in the Final.


R4: Ben Maxim (26) claimed the fastest Senior Rotax lap of the day with a 40.02 and the fastest average speed of 66.43 mph in the Final.

SENIOR ROTAX 177

Another busy weekend for Senior Rotax 177. Gary Cooper (76) made a great return to the track (after eight years out!) in Round 3 claiming 1st in the Final and two heats and 2nd in Heat 3. The remaining second positions were shared throughout the day between Jay Ford (99) and Justin Clarke (48). Miles Williams (628), Max Williams (17) and Jay Ford (99) took turns on the 3rd place step. Jay Ford (99) upped his game in Round 4 claiming 1st in the Final and Heat 1 and a 2nd in Heat 3. Robert Reeve (15) took 1st in the Final and also in Heat 2 and 2nd place in Heat 1. Justin Clarke (48) and Nick Aitcen (21) took turns at 3rd place with Justin Clarke (48) claiming the position in the Final.


R3: Thomas Parker (72) picked up the fastest Rotax 177 lap of the day with a 40.17 in the Final. Gary Cooper (76) claimed the fastest average speed of 63.03 mph in Heat 2.


R4: Jay Ford (99) claimed the fastest Senior Rotax 177 lap of the day with a 41.22 in Heat 1 and achieved the fastest average speed of 64.35 mph in the same race.
