Club 2000, Round 3, 2nd March 2019


After a snowy last round we were bracing ourselves for more inclement weather but we side stepped a downpour and got away with a slightly damp and overcast day.

Honda

Pure determination meant Kacee Lynch (41) grabbed 1st in the final with an average speed of 55.33, having only managed two 3rd places and a 5th in the heats.

Connor Baines (88) managed 2nd in the final with a 2nd, 1st and 7th in the heats.

Ollie Handley claimed the fastest Honda lap of the day with a 47.40.

Congratulations also due to Harley Mason (63) and Connor Bains (88) who made the move from Clubman to Pro.

Junior Prokart Jensen Beane narrowly missed a clean sweep with a 1st in the final and two 1st places in the heats. For the most part Jensen Beane, Elliot Norton and Daniel Copland were in control of the field jostling for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all the heats and the final.

Closest on their heels were in Heats 2, 3 and final: Alfie Campbell; Heat 1: Top Novice, Theo Gray;

Daniel Copland claimed the fastest Prokart lap of the day with a 43.98

Junior Rotax

This class was unfortunately thin on the ground with 2 non-starters but no less exciting as a result. The heats were well fought and saw some interested moves from both competitors. In the final, Adam Foster averaged a speed of 61.48 miles an hour and claimed the fastest Junior Rotax lap of the day with a 42.14.

Junior TKM We had a strong field for this class. Lewis Mackie (21) and Kian Bennett (44) were to be found battling at the front sharing 1st and 2nd places in all heats and the final with speeds of around 63 miles an hour.

Kian Bennett claimed the fastest Junior TKM lap of the day with a 41.95.

Senior Rotax Oliver Hart took the final having achieved two 2nd places and a 1st in the heats and a string of fastest laps. For the most part, Josh Twitchen was hot on his heels with two wins in the heats. With speeds of around 64.5 miles an hour, Josh also claimed the fastest Senior Rotax (and overall) lap of the day with a 40.87.

Senior Rotax 177 Nic Carlton-Smith (7) led the way with wins in all heats and the final closely followed by Rob Peachey with 2nd places in all heats and the final. Nic and Rob shared the claim of the fastest Senior Rotax 177 lap of the day with 41.25.
